The Serving Our Sick (SOS) Ministry is a confidential outreach initiative inspired by volunteers committed to those facing unexpected accidents or illnesses, challenging physical or mental health conditions, the aging process, and end-of-life preparations. The emphasis on trusting God during these vulnerable times, practicing self-love, engaging in spiritual reflection, and summoning great courage reflects a holistic approach to addressing the various aspects of an individual’s well-being. Regardless of age or medical condition, the SOS Ministry is here to serve the patients, families and caregivers of San Juan Del Rio’s parishioners and the greater St. Johns community, within the parish boundaries.
Optimally, the patient or their caregiver would contact the SOS Ministry as soon as the patient is diagnosed with an illness or injury resulting in a restriction of their mobility. This includes those who are instructed by their physician to remain in their current location except for hospital or doctor’s visits. We welcome inquiries at any stage of the illness or accident and will provide the level of support that best meets the patient’s and caregiver’s needs. Please contact us today!
The Serving Our Sick (SOS) Ministry is available to all San Juan Del Rio parishioners and community christians living within the parish boundries of St. Johns, FL. The SOS Ministry serves patients of all ages, who are home, hospital or healthcare facility bound and restricted in mobility. Patients who are sick, recovering, surgical candidates or receiving medical treatments that restrict them from attending church services or receiving sacraments are welcome.
SOS Ministry Volunteers serve because we’ve been called to do so by Our Lord, Jesus Christ. We serve because we love to support our parishioners and community.
