How We Help

Our invitation is for individuals, families, and caregivers to allow SOS Ministry volunteers to join you through a spiritual and community-focused approach to providing care support. By intertwining spiritual reflection with practical assistance and emotional support, the SOS Ministry aims to create an environment where individuals can navigate the challenges of illness or aging with a sense of faith, love and solidarity.

Prayers

Your prayer requests are assigned to volunteers who pray using daily, weekly and monthly devotions on behalf of your loved one. Each person is prayed for by name, to invoke the Holy Spirit’s divine healing powers. We will call you monthly to follow up throughout your loved one’s journey.

Education volunteers provide a wealth of parish, diocesan and community resources to support individual’s and caregiver’s healthcare questions. Resources for transitioning living conditions, changing medical needs, Medicare and insurance, palliative and hospice care and end-of-life planning, in accordance with the Catholic faith, are provided. Parish educational events and individual consultations are available.

Support

Our goal is to provide meaningful support services to you and your loved one. A variety of services are currently available including: homebound Eucharist (Catholics only), patient visits and occasionally running small errands. We visit private residences and healthcare facilities within the San Juan Del Rio Parish boundaries. Ask us for assistance and we’ll do all we can to accommodate your request.
